How I Play It Videos
Demonstrated on a 12 string but you can play the same arrangements on a 6 string.

Bond Theme - This is a very difficult arrangement separated into five videos.

Speak Softly Love - This is a very difficult arrangement separated into four videos.

Paint It Black - This is a very difficult arrangement separated into four videos.

Dust In The Wind - In this arrangement, with the exception of the solo, the right hand finger picking and chords are very basic and separated into five videos. The solo part, which is the violin solo transcribed for the guitar is very difficult.

Mission Impossible - This short arrangement is based on the original TV Theme but the key is changed from G minor A minor to accommodate the use of open strings in the base line. This is a difficult arrangement separated into four videos. It would be best to follow the videos in the order prescribed.

Shape Of My Heart - This is a very simple song with a lot of repetition so in order to keep it interesting as a guitar solo I found seven variations which are improvised melodies over the basic chord progression of the song. This arrangement/improvisation requires only a basic skill level for the right hand finger picking but for the left hand there are a lot of changes which are explained in detail. It would be most important to take the time to learn the basic changes first as described in each video. There are seven videos.

Mad World - This is an easier arrangement as the song is very simple and repetitious, the intro, which is also used as the interlude and ending, is the most difficult part. The melody in the first verse and chorus moves easily through basic open string chords in the first position. The second verse and chorus places the melody an octave higher, while the melody for the second verse moves through higher positioned chords the melody through the chorus is harmonized in sixths and moves fluently over the mid range of the fret board. If you're new to the genre of "finger style" guitar this arrangement could offer you an easier place to start developing some of the most basic skills. Separated into five videos.

Hotel California - This song has a very simple and repetitious chord progression which runs through the key of B minor in the verses and D major in the Chorus. In this arrangement the simple chord progression has been expanded to many different voicings through several variations so there are a lot of chord changes combined with multiple right hand picking techniques which transition rapidly and for that reason makes this a very difficult piece. There are nine videos.

He's A Pirate - This thematic composition is divided into six videos according to its form, an additional video of the performance is also included. This arrangement is extremely difficult with a lot of complex chords, fast changes with multiple right hand techniques employed. Therefore, I thought it was best for the most part to use one camera angle and give a detailed measure by measure, beat by beat explanation through each video.

The Medallion Calls - This thematic composition is divided into five videos according to its form, an additional video of the performance is also included. This arrangement is extremely difficult with a lot of complex chords, fast changes with multiple right hand techniques employed. Therefore, I thought it was best for the most part to use one camera angle and give a detailed measure by measure, beat by beat explanation through each video.

El Condor Pasa - This arrangement is divided into six videos of which the level of difficulty varies. In the Intro the use of the tremolo strumming may be difficult if you are not familiar with this technique which additional time my be required to develop. The first verse and chorus variations may be challenging while the second verse and chorus variations have some extremely difficult chord changes and an alternating bass line while continuing a repeated 32nd note tremolo which at times moves along the melody.

Chop Suey - Most of this arrangement is in the intermediate skill level in which four very basic easy to change chords are used. However, there are some more advanced finger picking and strumming techniques used in the Pre-verse, verse and variation. Divided into seven videos, this could be a good place to start to develop the triplet tremolo technique.

Malaguena - Divided into four videos. Most of this arrangement is in the upper intermediate skill level due to the use of the rasguedo strumming technique, long form arpeggios and the use of the triplet tremolo in part 3. The unique sound of this piece comes from the use of the Spanish Phrygian scale.

Carol of the Bells - Divided into four videos. This is an intermediate piece most of which is fairly easy and covers a large range of the fret board using the most basic classical style finger picking technique.

Ho Hey - This is an intermediate fingerstyle arrangement with fairly easy chord changes. Divided into seven videos there is a segment at the end of each video of how this arrangement can also be played using a pick.

Time In A Bottle - Although the finger picking is fairly basic this arrangement has some difficult chords and changes to deal with which puts this in the upper intermediate to advanced category. Divided into four videos covering intro, verse, chorus and ending.

Norwegian Wood - This arrangement for the most part is easy, however both variations of the chorus are played with a more complex use of a 32nd note tremolo which is a more advanced technique, specific instructions are given to develop the skill and use thereof and also how to simplify it.
